Experience Egypt during one of the most extraordinary astronomical events of our lifetime. This is a fixed-date sharing group tour running from 28 July to 7 August 2027, combines Cairo, Luxor and Aswan with a slow, authentic Nile sailing experience — perfectly timed to witness the Total Solar Eclipse on 2 August 2027 from the deck of a traditional dahabiya boat.
Operated professionally by Aqua Tours – Egypt, this journey blends comfort, culture, nature and once-in-a-lifetime magic.
Upon arrival in Cairo, our Aqua Tours representative will welcome you at the airport and assist with formalities before transferring you to your hotel. Take some time to relax after your journey, then in the evening enjoy a lovely welcome dinner with your group and start getting excited for the adventure ahead.
After breakfast, your day begins with a journey back to ancient times at Saqqara to see the Step Pyramid, followed by an unforgettable experience at the Great Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx. It’s a powerful introduction to Egypt’s incredible history before returning to your hotel to relax.
Today you’ll explore the Grand Egyptian Museum with its spectacular collections, then continue to Coptic Cairo to discover one of the oldest Christian areas in the world. The day ends with time at Khan El Khalili bazaar, where colors, scents and local life create a truly authentic Egyptian atmosphere.
This morning you will fly to Luxor to begin your Nile adventure. After visiting Karnak and Luxor Temple, you will board your elegant dahabiya — your floating home on the Nile — where freshly prepared meals, warm hospitality and peaceful river views set the tone for the coming days.
A beautiful day of discovery awaits on Luxor’s West Bank as you explore the Valley of the Kings, the impressive Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, and the mighty Colossi of Memnon. Returning to the dahabiya, you’ll enjoy a relaxed evening surrounded by calm Nile scenery.
Today is truly special as the dahabiya positions itself perfectly for the solar eclipse. You will watch this rare celestial event from the deck while enjoying lunch — a once-in-a-lifetime moment on the Nile. After the eclipse ends, the boat continues sailing south toward Edfu, where dinner and a peaceful overnight await.
After breakfast, you’ll visit the magnificent Temple of Edfu at opening time, allowing you to explore in a calm, quiet atmosphere. The dahabiya then continues sailing south, and later you’ll enjoy a beautiful cultural afternoon walking through Basaw village before ending the day with a magical picnic-style dinner on the riverbank.
Sailing continues toward Gebel El Silsila, where you’ll explore the ancient sandstone quarries before enjoying a refreshing swimming stop in the calm Nile. By sunset, you will visit the atmospheric Kom Ombo Temple, beautifully lit and overlooking the river, before returning to the boat for dinner and overnight.
After breakfast and another relaxing swim, the dahabiya sails toward Aswan, where you’ll visit the enchanting Philae Temple. Later, you’ll discover the warmth and vibrant culture of a Nubian village, before returning to the boat for dinner and another peaceful night on the Nile.
An early start takes you to the incredible temples of Abu Simbel, travelling by road with a breakfast box, with the option to upgrade to fly if preferred. After returning for lunch onboard, you may visit the colorful Aswan Bazaar if energy allows, before enjoying your final dinner on the dahabiya.
After an early morning checkout, you will transfer to Aswan Airport for your flight back to Cairo, marking the end of services. You leave with unforgettable memories of the Nile, ancient wonders and a once-in-a-lifetime eclipse experience.
